TRENDnet's 32/64 Bit Copper Gigabit Adapter Featured on 8wire.com 8wire.com (11/12/2001)
TRENDnet's Adapter Stand Out In A Crowd!
8wire.com, an online publication that provides open forums as well as original technical content to promote the interaction and growth of information and ideas among IT networking professionals in midsize and small companies, featured an extensive review of TRENDnet's TEG-PCITX2 Copper Gigabit Ethernet Adapter on November 12, 2001.
TRENDnet's TEG-PCITX2 is very easy to install, and can be installed on either a 64-Bit or 32-Bit PCI slot. A newer server with a 64-Bit PCI slot will extend the adapters potential performance, while older machines with 32-bit PCI slots will work fine as well.
In addition to offering Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Connectivity, this adapter is backwards compatible. It works with your legacy networking equipment at 10Mbps, making it highly flexibly when switching between legacy and new machines or networks. Most gigabit adapters don't support 10Mbps, which makes TRENDnet's stands out from the crowd. The card showed consistent results when tested with NetIQ and SmartBits constantly for at least 5 hours in 8wire's lab. Many test were repeated to create pressure on the unit and, as expected, the adapter handled all the test traffic without any problems.
Gigabit technology has proven its' ability to transfer data at high speeds. Early adapters faced limitations on implementing this technology because gigabit equipment cost so much, but this is not the case anymore as demand and increased production capacity have slashed prices.
Companies who need gigabit connectivity can deploy it over existing Cat 5 copper cabling at a low cost. Gigabit adapter such as TRENDnet's TEG-PCITX2 will be a great choice for any business planning for copper gigabit upgrades and will be seen in server rooms for a long time providing high speed connectivity.
