TRENDnet's Wireless LAN was one among 13 Wireless Networking Solutions that was tested in Mobile Computing's "Wireless LAN for All" Comparison Report. The products selected ranged from medium to large enterprise vendors such as Cisco, Lucent, Intel, 3Com, and Intermec as well as vendors that target the small business users such as TRENDnet, Linksys, Netgear, and SMC.

Each product went through four tests:

1. A throughput test that determined the data transmission speeds of the Access Points.
2. A range test that showed how performance was affected the further the user strayed from the AP.
3. An interference test that measured any disruptions in performance caused by a microwave oven, which shares the same frequency as these solutions.
4. A RushHour test that gauged performance under especially busy conditions.

TRENDnet scored on top for the range test in the small business vendor category, beating DLink, SMC, Xircom, Linksys and a few other vendors. It was also noted for its "Cool Design" for the access point's sleek transparent blue case. TRENDnet's TEW-AP100 is attractively priced and is among the lowest of all the vendors.
