TRENDnet’s Revolutionary New Product Design Steals the Spotlight at Cebit 2004

Torrance, CA – March 30, 2004 — TRENDnet, a leading manufacturer of networking products worldwide, presented at Cebit, the world’s largest IT/telecommunications trade fair, for the 11th time in a row. Held annually in Hannover, Germany, Cebit allows industry professionals to experience the bleeding edge of IT technology. TRENDnet’s participation this year met with unprecedented enthusiasm – very much a reflection of TRENDnet’s tremendous growth over the last few years.

Despite a festive atmosphere, TRENDnet’s 6 representatives were hard at work during the 7-day fair. TRENDnet President Pei Huang and TRENDnet’s International Sales Team were able to meet with over 100 current and prospective customers, thanks in part to a newly designed 60 m² booth. The booth’s four meeting rooms/areas were perpetually filled with customers interested in TRENDnet’s latest products, marketing efforts, and business strategies.

Cebit visitors were able to see and learn about TRENDnet’s newest products as well as its expansive Copper Gigabit, Wireless, KVM, Print Server, Router, and Fiber Product Lines.

TRENDnet unveiled its soon-to-be-released 802.11a + g product line to thousands of enthusiastic onlookers. Featuring the TEW-510APB Access Point and TEW-511BRP Wireless Router, TRENDnet’s 802.11a + g product line will offer SOHO and SMB users the ultimate in wireless speed and compatibility.

TRENDnet’s new 52-port Copper Gigabit Web-based Smart Switch (TEG-2248WS) was also a crowd-favorite. Scheduled to be released in Q2, the TEG-2248WS will feature 48 x 10/100Mbps ports, two 10/100/1000Mbps gigabit ports, and two mini-GBIC ports. Space-conscious solution providers will appreciate the switch’s ultra-compactness; the TEG-2248WS is the size of virtually all other vendors’ 16 and 24-port switches. (1U) As TRENDnet’s highest-capacity switch, the TEG-2248WS will simplify enterprise and SMB networks by reducing – or even eliminating – the need for multiple switches.

Perhaps the loudest cheering at Cebit came in response to TRENDnet unveiling its new product casing. Visitors delighted in the aggressive new design elements: a hip oval profile, an engraved “TRENDnet” logo, and integrated mounts that allow multiple units to be stacked on each other. The fashion-forward design epitomizes TRENDnet’s efforts to increase brand equity.

On Saturday night, TRENDnet hosted the dinner party it traditionally holds for its customers. Over 100 customers from Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas took part in the celebration. One of the evening’s highlights came when “ambitious” TRENDnet customers prodded TRENDnet President Pei Huang onto the stage of the full-capacity restaurant, where an orchestra was playing.

4000+ diners watched as Huang presented the orchestra’s conductor with a large TRENDnet banner. Seemingly aware of his unspoken yet important responsibility, the conductor displayed the banner on the back of his podium for the remainder of the evening.
