Torrance, CA – September 25, 2006– TRENDnet, a best-in-class manufacturer of wired and wireless networking solutions, announced it has begun shipping its new wired (TS-I300) and wireless (TS-I300W) IDE storage server enclosures, which will ship with a free version of the Nero 7 Essentials digital media software. By combining the new network attached storage (NAS) solutions with Nero’s powerful software suite, both power users and small businesses will have a flexible platform to easily create an always-on digital media server able to distribute multimedia content throughout the home or add a cost-effective back-up solution to protect against hard drive crashes and the possible loss of critical data.
The rapid growth of digital entertainment content has helped drive the adoption of digital media and NAS storage in the home and in small businesses. To accommodate this growth in information the TS-I300 units provide unlimited storage space with an expandable 3.5” IDE Hard Drive bay (hard drive not included) and two USB 2.0 ports to attach additional external flash, SATA or IDE drives. Also, thanks to faster network speeds and increasing compatibility between electronic and computer devices, the ability to distribute digital entertainment such as MP3’s, photos and HD videos throughout the home is becoming easier. Used as a media library, the bundled Nero MediaHome application provides an intuitive interface to easily access the entire storage servers media library from the office or living room and playback the content easily on a TV or hi-fi system. The fully certified UPnP Nero MediaHome application allows seamless compatibility with other UPnP-enabled entertainment solutions to create an easy plug-n-play entertainment server.
Used as a back-up solution, scheduled back-ups of critical files are easy using Nero’s BackItUp 2 application. The BackItUp 2 wizard can create scheduled backups of files, programs or drives to prevent data loss and damage caused by hard drive failure, power cuts, virus infections and other potentially damaging causes. The files can be accessed or recovered either locally on the network or remotely through the integrated FTP server. Secure access to the sensitive information stored on the servers is added with password protection and IP Address filtering. Compatible with the 802.11b/g wireless standard (TS-I300W) and 10/100 Fast Ethernet (TS-I300) the universal plug and play (UPnP) enabled units are easily integrated into existing networks.
“By combining our reliable hardware platform with Nero’s full-featured media software we are able to deliver two versatile NAS solutions that solve the increasing demand for storage in the home or office,” stated Heath Gregory, Marketing Director for TRENDnet.
The TS-I300 and TS-I300W will begin shipping at a U.S. Average Selling Price (ASP) of $129.99 (USD) for the wired 10/100 TS-I300 and $169.99 (USD).for the 802.11b/g wireless TS-I300W.
