What is the benefit of the multi-function print server to that of a standard print server?

Standard print servers are not compatible with GDI, host-based, or multi-function printers. The TE100-MP1UN (multi-function print server) is compatible with most printers since it does support printers that are GDI, Host-Based, or Multi-Function. In addition, the 2-port USB print servers (TE100-MP2U and TEW-MP2U) are also compatible with storage devices.
