South Africa and Chile Partnership Events Certify over 250 Resellers

Torrance, CA – December 11, 2003 — TRENDnet, a leading manufacturer of networking products worldwide, continues to solidify its presence as a global networking player with recent Reseller Certification Events in South Africa and Chile. TRENDnet in conjunction with the respective Master Authorized Distributors to reinforce the TRENDnet brand and basic technical knowledge needed to support the product line. The target audience included over 300 potential and existing reseller partners.

The joint certification seminar was held in Santiago, Chile with Master Authorized Distributor, Magenta. Over 250 Magenta resellers and system integrators were in attendance. The event provided TRENDnet and Magenta an opportunity to educate some of the leading reseller partners in the region on the key features and advantages of supporting the TRENDnet product line.

“Magenta is a tech-savvy distributor that values the importance of working jointly with manufacturers to ensure their reseller partners get the best training,” said Stephanie Xian, International Sales Director for TRENDnet. “We want to establish a strong foundation of product knowledge with our distribution and reseller partners. Over the two-year partnership with Magenta, TRENDnet has become the #4 player in the Chilean networking market. During the presentation Ms. Xian and Mr. Alberto Mordojovich, President of Magenta, outlined their objective to become the leading networking manufacturer in the Chilean market. Mordojovich addressed the resellers stating, “Based on TRENDnet’s history we are confident the company will be one of the top three players in the networking segment.”

Claudio Torres Saez, Networking Engineer for Magenta, was responsible for planning and coordinating the event. Based on the attendance and revenue performance following the training the event appears to have made an impact on the business. Over 90% of those invited to the event showed. In turn, Magenta has seen a sizeable increase in sales for the TRENDnet product line since the event. A trend both companies look to continue.

TRENDnet also partnered with its Master Authorized Distributor BASIX, to outline the ease of networking with TRENDnet products to an audience of over 50 System Integrators from across South Africa and the surrounding region. The event was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, headquarters for BASIX.

BASIX is unique to the market by acting as a distributor and technical services provider to resellers in the region. Their customer base extends to several surrounding countries present at the training, including Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Botswana. South Africa has a Tax-Free trade zone with its developing neighbors allowing the company to build a reseller base across borders. Since knowledge of networking solutions continues to develop in these growing regional markets, it is important to provide products that are easy to install and support. As a result, the event provided an opportunity to communicate the “plug and play” nature of TRENDnet products and the advantages products like Wi-Fi wireless can bring to homes and businesses in these developing markets.
