TRENDnet's Wireless PC Card is the Only Vendor that is Certified By JVC for their Streamcorder Camera!

TORRANCE, CA - April 1, 2002 — TRENDnet, a leading manufacturer of networking products worldwide, is the only company chosen by JVC to produce a Wireless PC Card that is compatible for JVC's Streamcorder professional camera. JVC Company recently launched a new professional camcorder, the Streamcorder GY-DV300 and its companion KA-DV300U network package, to open new paradigms in the visual communications process. With the help of Dylanic GMBH, TRENDnet’s partner from Frankfurt, Germany, TRENDnet was able to submit its product for testing to JVC for their Streamcorder Camcorder. After testing many products throughout the European Market, TRENDnet's TEW-PC16 Wireless PC Card was the only PCMCIA card approved by JVC.

JVC's Streamcorder is the first of its kind in professional broadcast cameras that are Internet capable. JVC's GY-DV300 is a dual-purpose camcorder, fully functioning as a professional camera, and ready to meet the demands of professionals in need of streaming and wireless applications. The KA-DV300 network package attaches to the bottom of the camcorder with connection for a LAN card or CF card, permitting end-user full control over all camera functions from a remote location.

Semir Nouri and Oliver Helfrich, JVC's Product Managers, visited TRENDnet's booth at CeBit 2002 in Germany. They wanted to make sure that TRENDnet's new wireless PC Card TEW-201PC was just as compatible with the Streamcorder, as the previous model, TEW-PC16. After just 5 minutes of testing, they were fully satisfied.

"There are many vendors that offer wireless PC Cards," said Nouri. "JVC is a very reputable company and only uses reputable products. We want our customers to use our products with full comfort and trouble-free. TRENDnet meets all these standards and that is the reason why we only approve TRENDnet's card."

JVC's Streamcorder, when used with TRENDnet's TEW-201PC, allows the end-user full control over the camera, lens, VCR, and the ability to stream to a distant location by just using a standard Web browser. It permits viewing and control from remote locations. JVC's Streamcorder GY-DV300 and KA-DV300U is packaged together, although also sold separately, at a suggested list price of $4294.

"The Streamcorder is one of a kind in its market today," said Helfrich. "We estimate that it will take our competitors, Sony and Panasonic, at least 6 months to catch up to our product."
