TRENDnet Maximizes Wireless Performance with Dual Band 802.11a+g WLAN
TRENDnet (2/1/2005)

TRENDnet 802.11a+g products will support mix environments providing better performance.

Torrance , CA – February 1, 2005TRENDnet, a leading manufacturer of networking products worldwide, today announced its Dual Band 802.11a+g Wireless LAN product line. TRENDnet’s 802.11a+g products will provide more bandwidth throughput and extensive coverage range to meet the demands of today’s WLAN users and mix environments.

TRENDnet’s 802.11a+g WLAN products with Atheros Chipset supports both 802.11a and 802.11g environments. The TEW-501PC Wireless PC Card, TEW-503PI Wireless PCI Adapter, and TEW-504UB Wireless USB Adapter can perform in either 802.11a or 802.11g. The TEW-510APB Wireless Access Point and TEW-511BRP Wireless AP Router can perform in both 802.11a and 802.11g environments. TRENDnet’s 802.11a+g WLAN products will also support Super G mode with speeds up to 108Mbps, that’s more than double the throughput of today’s standard offerings of 802.11g.

The combination of 802.11a and 802.11g will offer greater flexibility and increase throughput. It will also minimize co-channel interference and overlap. 802.11g operates in the 2.4 GHz band along with a variety of other products such as microwave ovens and cordless phones. These products interfere with 802.11g networks. 802.11a provides more channels and bandwidth in the 5 GHz band, resulting in less interference from other devices. Having a wireless network that will support both frequencies will avoid these limitations.

TRENDnet’s 802.11a+g Wireless products will debut in March 2005 and will initially consist of the following products:

TEW-501PC 802.11a/g Wireless PC Card
TEW-503PI 802.11a/g Wireless PCI Adapter
TEW-504UB 802.11a/g Wireless USB Adapter
TEW-510APB 802.11a+g Wireless Access Point
TEW-511BRP 802.11a+g Wireless AP Router
