TRENDnet (11/8/2005)

Torrance, CA – November 8, 2005–TRENDnet
, a best-in-class networking manufacturer of wired and wireless networking solutions was pleased to announce its appearance on Adelphia Channel’s TECHLINK TV that aired live on Monday, October 31, 2005 at 7:30pm PST.

TECHLINK, which airs every Monday at 7:30pm on the Adelphia Channel throughout Southern California, is a weekly half-hour show on technology that provides a comprehensive review of the hottest new hardware, software, hot websites, and computer games out on the market. TECHLINK can also be seen nationwide on the Adelphia Channel Network in the following DMA Markets: Augusta, ME; Amesbury, MA; Buffalo, NY; Burlington, VT; Cleveland, OH; Colorado Springs, CO.

Heath Gregory, Marketing Director for TRENDnet, was invited by TECHLINK and interviewed by host Jeff Levy to introduce TRENDnet’s newest Wi-Fi technology. Three TRENDnet products discussed in the segment were the TEW-429UB Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter with HotSpot Detector and the new Super G Router and PC Card.

Levy responded with genuine excitement at the features of the TEW-429UB highlighted by Gregory.“Our TEW-429UB comes at the great time of the year for those looking for hot gadgets for the holiday seasons,” explained Gregory. “If you are a Road Warrior trying to find a location to connect, this allows you to quickly find any hotspot just by turning it on.” Gregory goes on explaining that the best thing about this product is that it doesn’t just show you that there’s one hotspot available, but also if it is encrypted or unencrypted. It will also show you if the signal strength is strong enough for you to connect. Levy showed his personal amazement at how he was able to maintain signal from his condo even when he went one floor up.

During the interview, Gregory and Levy also discussed the benefits of the TEW-429UB for those who have an older laptop.“It’s not just any Wi-Fi detector, it also has an 802.11g 54Mbps USB adapter integrated into it as well,” remarked Gregory. “Instead of buying a laptop which is Wi-Fi enabled, which will cost you more, or if you have an older laptop, the TEW-429UB will save you money by giving you 2-in-1.”

The other portion of the show also featured TRENDnet’s TEW-611BRP 108Mbps 802.11g MIMO Wireless Router. “To me this is a device that looks like an ordinary router, but it is far from ordinary,” commented Levy. The TEW-611BRP offers a robust wireless solution to extend wireless coverage and improve network performance. Inside the router and PC Card are multiple antennas, which helps increase the range and power.“So you can get up to 800% more coverage and 8 times the throughput than what you would get with a typical router,” explained Gregory.

The TEW-601PC 108Mbps 802.11g MIMO Wireless PC Card is designed to give you wider coverage and seamlessly connect to your wireless network without performance degradation.
