TRENDnet's Powerline 1200 AV2 Adapter Kit, model TPL-420E2K, comes with two Powerline adapters to create an extreme performance Powerline network using an existing electrical system. No CD installation required—encrypted TRENDnet adapters auto-connect out of the box. Plug in the first adapter and network it to your existing router. Plug in other adapters on the same electrical system and they auto-connect to the first adapter for immediate internet access.

A hand holds a Powerline 1200 AV2 Adapter near an electrical outlet on a wall. The adapter is white and rectangular with ventilation slits on the side. The electrical outlet has two standard sockets and is also white. The setup demonstrates the simplicity of installing the adapter by plugging it into the outlet, with auto-connection over an encrypted Powerline signal.

Plug In Install

Simply plug in TRENDnet adapters! They auto-connect out of the box over an encrypted Powerline signal.

A person stretches in front of a television screen showing a group performing the same exercise. A Powerline 1200 AV2 Adapter is plugged into a wall outlet, connected to the TV with a green line. This setup highlights the adapter's capability to deliver fast and stable networking for seamless device connectivity and 4K video streaming.

For Busy Homes

Powerline 1200 technology and a Gigabit port deliver incredibly fast and stable networking to seamlessly connect devices and stream 4K video.

A group of five people sits on a couch in a living room, watching a soccer game on a wall-mounted TV. One person holds a remote control, pointing it at the TV. The screen shows a soccer player kicking a ball in a stadium full of spectators. The room has a modern design with a white brick wall and a wooden cabinet below the TV.

Whole Home +

Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) Powerline technology connects adapters over the same electrical system for homes up to 5,000 sq. ft. (465 sq. m).

A comparison chart showcases two Powerline models: Powerline 500/600 and Powerline 1200. Powerline 500/600 offers speeds up to 500/600 Mbps, while Powerline 1200 offers speeds up to 1.2 Gbps. Both models feature pre-encrypted security, cross-compatibility, home coverage, and HD streaming. Powerline 1200 additionally supports 4K HD streaming and MIMO with Beamforming technology.
A network setup using TRENDnet Powerline 1200 adapters is shown. Two adapters are plugged into electrical outlets and connected by a Powerline 1200 link. One adapter connects to a router for internet access, and the other adapter connects to devices such as a PC, gaming console, or 4K HD streaming device via a Gigabit connection. The setup highlights the need for two adapters to start a network. Two adapters are needs to start a network.

* Maximum of 8 adapters (nodes) recommended for streaming video across your network.
** 1.2 Gbps is the maximum theoretical Powerline data rate when connected to another Powerline 1200 device. Data throughput may vary by circuit wire conditions. If an electrical system does not have a grounded connection, the theoretical networking speed is reduced to 600 Mbps.
*** Powerline communication works on a single electrical system. (Usually controlled by a single distribution panel). Power strip, GFCI outlets, and AFCI circuit breakers may degrade Powerline network signals.
