Will switches improve overall network performance?
FAQ ID: 352 Product: SwitchesUpdated:2/4/2005 8:52:06 PM
Yes. If a network begins to display symptoms of congestion, low throughput, slow response time, and high rates of collision, incorporating Switches will improve overall network performance. Switches segment traffic on one port from traffic on the others. Therefore, workstations and servers that produce heavy traffic can be isolated from users who produce lighter traffic.
